Many of you may have heard about the 9 firefighters that died in Charleston while fighting a fire at the Sofa Superstore. These really were OUR firefighters. Last week I developed film from Kimball's preschool disposable camera used throughout the year. I recognized atleast 3 of the 9 firefighters from our Station number 16 that were on duty during Kimball's visit.

When we told Kimball about the tragedy, he said,
"Did the one with the mustache die?" (Captain Benke)
"What about the one with dark skin?" (Champagne)
We are so grateful to men that put their lives out there for our safety. We are also so grateful for the sweet impressions left upon our 4 year old by these good men. Thanks, Charleston Firefighters! We will miss you.

This post brought tears to my eyes. Kimball is so sweet. We are definitely so grateful for all of the sacrifices made by everyone who keeps us safe.
